Hi everyone. Thank you for tuning in to BibimPOP with Sean. Episode two. As you know by now, BibimPOP with Sean is where pop culture ATE. I am so excited. I hope everyone is feeling ready for the holidays. They are fast approaching. I definitely still need to get out there and do my holiday shopping. And actually, you know, I should do a holiday episode sometime.

There is so much new holiday music, so many new holiday shows. Shout out to Hot frosty on Netflix. So much to cover with the holidays coming up. So yeah, definitely need to do a holiday show. In this episode today we're going to be talking about in the music world, Taylor Swift wrapped up her heiress tour, which is crazy.

I know we all feel like that has just been going forever and that it would never end. Yet it has come to a close. So we're going to talk about that, and we're going to talk about Megan Thee Stallion and what she has to do with K-pop. We're going to talk about a music video that I'm enjoying right now.

We're going to talk about some movie news. There's a new Disney movie coming out over the holidays, and I want to share my thoughts on that. I also want to hear your thoughts on that. And then we're going to talk about what's currently on my TV through Netflix Black Dove, with none other than Keira Knightley. So I'm excited to get into that more.

And then we'll wrap up the episode talking a little bit of fashion. Variety's recent Hitmakers Brunch was on December 7th. They had a green carpet instead of a red carpet, and there are definitely some looks to highlight from this event. So let's go ahead and jump right into things.

Alright, right, it is the end of an era tour and honestly, congratulations to Taylor Swift. It has been such a massive tour. It started on March 17th of 2023, I think in Arizona and just wrapped up on December 8th, 2024, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I think she had three shows that she did in Vancouver to wrap up her show.

I am so sad I didn't get to go. If you got to go, I would love to know where you went. Favorite songs that she performed? It looked so fun. I know people who went all over the world multiple places, multiple times to see her show in America, in London and Tokyo, Brazil. I can only imagine how accomplished Taylor feels right now.

She must be so happy to have put on such a spectacular and successful tour, and she must equally be happy to be done. Now she gets to relax, and I'm just thinking like, what would I do if I just wrapped up a global worldwide tour? I would be doing nothing. Absolutely nothing. I would be like, definitely treating myself to like some spa treatment, reading a book, sleeping in, treating myself, doing absolutely nothing like that's all I would want to do.

And so I hope that Taylor is doing that for herself. I was looking at the different stars and celebrities who showed up at her last shows, notably Leona Lewis was there. I love Liana and like, where has she been? I need new music from her. Sarah Paulson was there, Michael Bublé, Sean, the actor from the Blank Space music video.

What a great name. Chelsea Handler, Jen Tran and Sasha Farber from dancing with the stars. Of course, Gracie Abrams was there. She performed the opening act and then also a special performance with Taylor on the last day. And Aubrey Plaza was there. I love Aubrey Plaza. Have you seen Agatha all along on Disney Plus? Aubrey Plaza was absolutely amazing in that show, and when I heard Aubrey Plaza was at the Taylor Swift concert, I was just thinking like, oh my gosh, it would be so cool if Aubrey hopped on stage with Taylor and they did like a rendition of The Witches Road.

Are you kidding me? That would be like absolute gold. I just wish that happened. It didn't. But yes, Aubrey Plaza was there. Love her, and Flavor Flav was there. I didn't know he was a swiftie, but I love that for him. So again, congratulations to Taylor Swift for wrapping up her tour the end of an era. And if you got to go, congratulations to you.

I'm jealous. I wish I could have gone as a reminder, if you're liking this content, please subscribe, like, follow and share, BibimPOP with Sean.

I. All right. Also, in the pop culture world, specifically within the K-pop world, I just have to say I love me some Megan Thee Stallion. And you're probably wondering, like, what does Megan Thee Stallion have to do with K-pop? First of all, I'm convinced that Megan Thee Stallion loves K-pop. In 2021, she released a remixed version of the song butter by K-pop boy band none other than BTS's and she.

Oh my gosh, I am like remembering right now. I have to share with you. I went to the concert at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, and it was right before BTS's departed and went their ways to do their military service for South Korea. And at that concert, Megan Thee Stallion came out to perform with BTS. Had no idea she was there.

It was a complete surprise. I was shocked, it was it's a memory that will live in my mind rent free forever because I was so excited. Well, she's done it again. And she is currently featured in the K-pop girl group Twice's latest single, strategy. And I only had to listen once to this song to fall absolutely in love.

Put it immediately on my workout playlist. It's a playful, empowering girl anthem about getting a man to fall in love through her own strategy. And I just the lyrics in this song are so fun. I love this line. Hey boy, I'm a getcha, I'm a get a real good and I betcha. And it's just so catchy and I love it.

And Megan's verse near the end definitely adds the perfect level of that popular, famous Megan Thee Stallion swag. She says other girls try, but I'm really hard to beat. He'll be mine off my strategy. What girl go? I love that so much. And as a side note, the choreo in the music video is so fun. So check out the music video, but definitely listen to the song.

Right now. And speaking of music videos, a music video that I'm really into right now as well as the song is toxic. Not Toxic by Britney Spears, although I love that song, but toxic Til the End by Rosé. Rosé debuted in the K-pop music industry as a member of the popular girl group Blackpink, and she started doing soloist work in 2021.

Recently released her newest album, Rosie, on December 6th, and the first single from Rosie was her catchy collab with Bruno Mars. I know you've heard it a lot, you know, Pat Patty. But I, I love that song. It's so fun. And honestly, most of the songs on her new album are more of a slower pace. They don't really have that same vibe as the first single of apt, but her latest single, toxic Till the End, came with a music video that just released and I watched it yesterday and I was I was so excited because it has a special guest, Evan Mock, who plays Rose's boyfriend slash ex, and I love Evan

Mock. I discovered him through the Gossip Girl reboot on Max and just really like his sense of style and his fashion. He has like this buzzed head with like his hair. His like really short hair is dyed like bright fluorescent pink and it's it's so fun. I love it, it's it's great. Anyway, okay, back to toxic. Till the end with Rosie talking about Rosie.

Although Rosie is originally a K-pop artist, this whole song and pretty much the album is nearly all in English, so I think she's trying to make that jump from the international space into America, which can be so hard for artists to do. But she's so good, so I hope she can make it happen. I'm definitely a fan.

If there's anything I can do about it, I will be supporting her. The music video was great. I definitely was missing the choreography, but I get I get that not every music video can have choreography. The video did tell a good story about a relationship that starts out great and playful and happy, and then slowly turns into secrets and emotional manipulation and feelings of resentment.

And despite the pain that they are causing each other, they still stay together. So it definitely was not a feel good music video, needless to say. But I think the cinematography and the acting with the lyrics painted a really realistic representation of what relationship can become if people aren't careful. I love the lyrics from the first chorus going into the second one, it's actually spoken lyrics and rosé speaks.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the ex. Anyway, I just thought it was a really creative take, going from like one part of the story into the next. You need to listen to the whole song. You need to see the video to really understand it. But I thought that was really creatively genius. And these lyrics near the end of the song, just like got Me, she says, I can forgive you for a lot of things, for not giving me back my Tiffany rings.

I'll never forgive you. For one thing, my dear. You wasted my prettiest years and oh my goodness, those lyrics like time really is so precious. Like we only have a finite amount of time, and so much of what matters in the world are our relationships and the connections we make with other people. And so to think like if someone is spending all this time, energy, and effort in their finite life to build a relationship that's not healthy, I'll just like, that's just sad, right?

That's just sad to me. And so anyway, obviously, like I said, not like a feel good music video or song, but it's definitely worth a watch. Give it a listen. I thought it was really well done. And after listening to that segment, if you're interested in checking out Rosie's new album, Rosie, I would definitely recommend the following songs.

These are by far my favorite songs from the album. Number one girl 3 a.m. two years. Toxic. Till the end apt. Obviously Game Boy stay a little longer and too bad for us. Okay, I literally just went through nearly every single song on the album, but honestly, they're so good. They're so good. So definitely give it a check.

Let me know what you think.

I. All right. I need to know, have you seen any good movies recently? I've seen some good ones that I enjoyed recently, like wicked, Love It and heretic. So good. Such a different vibe. Honestly, I can't believe I just used Wicked and Heretic in the same sentence, but I feel like I haven't seen anything by Disney recently. Granted, I need to see the new Moana two, which I'm excited for, but I heard the music isn't as good as the first one, and so that just kind of put me on pause right now.

I still want to see it. I still want to see it in theaters, but I don't know, I just I haven't gotten tickets. I can find the time to go. I just I don't know when I heard that. I just didn't get really excited to see it, but I still want to see it. But did you hear that?

Oh, and have you heard Disney is making a live action of Moana? I am v excited for that. Like I will definitely be seeing that. Like the second it drops. I'll be getting the tickets early. If I can see an early release premiere like I'm I'm so there. But Disney has a new movie coming up this holiday season, Mufasa The Lion King, which is anyone else confused?

Like, did anyone ask for a full length feature about Simba's father? I mean, don't get me wrong, that's okay and that's fine, I just don't. I just didn't know that people wanted this. And I watched the trailer and I can't even really tell what it's about. Like, obviously it's about Mufasa, his upbringing. But what is it actually about?

So I googled, I googled it, and the following came up. It says, quote, lost and alone. Orphaned cub Mufasa meets a sympathetic lion named Tucker, the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destinies. Close quote. So, Tucker, whoever that is, is the heir.

But somehow we know how the story goes. Mufasa ends up becoming the king. I don't even need to watch the movie to know that I already feel bad for Tucker. Like whatever happens there. I'm so sorry, Tucker. And honestly, you know what I would love more than any other storyline is if Mufasa were like the villain in this movie and then overtakes the throne from Toccoa, like that would be hot tea.

That would be hot tea. And also, like, wear a scar. I thought that was Mufasa brother. So, like, where is he in this story? I don't think he was in the trailer. And if he was, I missed it. But don't remove him from the storyline. I want to see more about that and how scar became to be who he is anyway.

Are you excited to see this? I'm a hard like four out of ten, honestly. Will I see it? Probably. It's Disney. I love Disney, so I'll probably see it. I'll have to report my thoughts out if I do. And if you feel like my score here of four out of ten is too low, tell me what I'm missing and Disney just had their movie premiere for Mufasa the Lion King and the stars showed up.

The red carpet event was so well attended and first we have to talk about Beyonce. She looked absolutely gorge stunning in her dress as well as her daughter blue Ivy Carter. They partnered and collab on this gold ensemble and blue Ivy looked so beautiful in her Christian Siriano gown. Heidi Klum was there. She looked amazing. I mean, you'll just have to look up the red carpet event.

Everyone really turned out and showed up so good, I loved it, so maybe that's a good indicator of what's to come in the movie. If the movie can match the energy of the style of the red carpet event for the premiere, then it's going to be a good movie. I'm convinced.

Okay, speaking of Disney, I don't think I have seen Keira Knightley in any major role since Pirates of the Caribbean. So when I saw that she was in this new Netflix series, Black Doves, I immediately pressed play. I'm only three episodes in, but so far I'm really enjoying it. Is anyone else watching it? I want to hear your thoughts.

A political suspense drama thriller is like totally my genre. I love it even though if you know me, I have to pause every ten minutes just to ask whoever I'm watching with what's happening, because sometimes the politics just goes way over my head. Same thing with like when I watched Netflix's The Diplomat. Pause every ten minutes and ask my husband what is happening?

So sorry, Matt, and I don't want to spoil anything, but you just have to watch it. I'll definitely have to talk more about it later. But I do want to say, as I was watching an episode the other night, you know, where in like movies, a spy or an assassin or whoever, they're putting in a microchip into some laptop to copy a hard drive to find out all their little secrets.

And I was thinking, I don't think I honestly do not think I have ever seen anything more unrealistic than that. Like Marvel movies where people are flying to other worlds or going to different timelines is more believable than that. When I need to make a copy of my hard drive, it takes research and like five hours to transfer all the information.

There's just no way. There's no way. Prove me wrong. That is so unrealistic. You can't just stick a chip into a laptop and then it downloads and copies the entire hard drive in, like, seconds, and then you're out of the building and you're, you know, saving the world or whatever. It's just not going to happen. So anyway, you know, okay, after round out our pop culture news for today, I want to share variety just had their hit makers brunch and doesn't that sound so fun?

I love that it was a brunch instead of another evening event. I would much rather go to a brunch than stay out at some event that ends at like 11 p.m. and then I rush home and I'm exhausted. I was looking at some of the red carpet looks, which I shouldn't even say red carpet. It was actually more of a green carpet, but I loved a few of the looks.

Lana Del Rey shout out she looked so cozy! Classy pairing a sweater with pearls Olivia Rodrigo had on a cute dress I really liked. Probably my favorite look of the day was Benson Boone's cropped leather jacket by Celine. That had these cute flower jewel details. You'll have to check it out. It looked great and that's like a look I would totally be into.

I'm not a I'm not, like the biggest fan of Benson Boone, but kudos to him. And from the event, Charli XCX won hitmaker of the year. Congrats to her. Well-deserved. She's amazing. Although I have to say I was really disappointed. Her red carpet look looked so just blah like it wasn't great. And Charli XCX is like so fun.

And her outfit did not reflect her personality or her energy at all. I thought there was a total miss there, just not my vibe. So there's that.

Also complete side note here. Wicked. The soundtrack. Who else is listening? The songs are so good they are on repeat. As I'm driving around. No one mourns the wicked popular defying gravity. One short day they're all so well done. And so anyway, would love to know your thoughts on the wicked soundtrack. What songs are you listening to? What's your favorite?

I keep thinking we'll have to talk about wicked more. I feel like I could do a whole podcast episode just on wicked, so maybe, you know, maybe that's coming up. Let me know if that's something that would be interesting to you. Okay, really quickly, I stumbled across this article published by E! News where they interviewed Hilary Duff, and I love what Hilary had to say.

She pretty much was talking about how her kids don't really care about her work, but I love what she said. She said, quote, I just tried to have them be the stars of this household. That's really important to me. Close quote. And I just thought that was so sweet. So snaps for Hilary Duff. I mean, she's so cute.

And she posted a picture recently of them going to like a Christmas tree farm. And her family is just so wholesome. I love them.
